About These Materials Primary Sources These guides use Cecilio D. Duka's Constitutional Law 2 (2025) as the primary commentary — chosen for its currency and incorporation of the most recent Supreme Court decisions. Because Duka's treatment of certain topics can be lean, each guide is supplemented by Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, S.J. and Justice Isagani A. Cruz to fill doctrinal gaps, add nuance, and provide richer scholarly commentary where needed. Format: Standalone Primer Each guide is a complete lecture outline — fully self-contained and understandable without reading any of the source texts first. Use them as:
A primary introduction to each topic Lecture notes to read alongside Duka, Bernas, or Cruz A pre-exam review reference
How to Use Start with the constitutional text. Work through each section sequentially. Cross-reference cited cases for jurisprudential depth. Apply critical analysis — understand the reasoning, not just the rules.
These materials represent my personal study notes for Constitutional Law 2 at Bukidnon State University College of Law. While prepared with scholarly rigor, they should be used alongside official course materials and primary sources.
